Stack Removal Now Complete!
Update
If you have recently driven by our facility, you may have noticed that the Unit 1 & 2 stack removal is now complete. With our recent announcement (see press release on front page of site) on our contract with Southern California Edison, the planned repowering of our facility continues to move forward.
History of Units 1 & 2 Stack Removal
Overview
We have now removed Units 1 and 2 stacks at the El Segundo Generating Station. This project involved a "top down" removal of the two northernmost stacks using hand-held equipment.

Noise Notification
We're will continue to maintain a 24-hour "hotline" for the public to ask questions or express noise related concerns that may arise during the El Segundo repowering project. Callers will be asked to leave a voicemail message which will be immediately transferred to the project's Noise Monitoring Officer to address the concern or comment. Callers may also press "0" to be directed to an operator who will collect information about the concern and direct it to the Noise Monitoring Officer.
